Concept

Research Desk is an experimental AI-assisted research workflow platform desd to support the entire research process through structured digital assistance.

The project explores how AI systems can augment research activities including planning, memo organization, literature search, screening, reporting, and long-term knowledge management.

Rather than functioning as a single-purpose AI chatbot, Research Desk is designed as an integrated workflow environment in which multiple research-support functions are interconnected.

The system is being developed around several core concepts:

AI-assisted Workflow
Research processes are treated as structured workflows rather than isolated tasks. The system aims to support continuity across research planning, information collection, organization, and reporting.

Human-centered Research Support
AI is positioned as an assistive layer that supports human judgment, interpretation, and decision-making rather than replacing the researcher.

Structured Knowledge Management
Research outputs, memos, references, and analytical notes are managed as interconnected knowledge assets that can be continuously reused and expanded.

Iterative Development
Research Desk itself is an evolving experimental project. System architecture, interface design, and workflow concepts are continuously revised during development.

The project remains under active development and serves both as a research-support environment and as an ongoing exploration of AI-assisted research infrastructure.
